That rattling at the door is not in your head, it’s the sound of Sam Flynn’s Cabinet of Curiosities, my new quarterly newsletter with all the book news, publishing insights, writing tips, and mini-reviews you could want. It will go out the first Friday of every third month, starting this week June 7 followed by the second issue on September 6 to hype up the impending publication of my debut fantasy-horror novella The Mystery of the Pale King (out Sept. 17, preorder here).
While the Slog will remain home to my longer posts and essays, the Cabinet will provide an inside look at the author’s journey – this summer I am querying agents for my epic fantasy-mystery novel The Darkest Fate, a passion project I’ve worked on for six years – alongside shorter blurbs for the books (Ambergris!) and movies (Furiosa!) I’m inhaling. There will also be exclusives and giveaways found only in the newsletter.
Speaking of support, I am also launching a Patreon for those who wish to help me achieve financial independence as an artist. Look for details on that in the first newsletter this Friday and for more regular updates to follow here on the Slog as I prepare* for my fall debut.
